We spent 4 days exploring Ramsgate with our Border Terrier who enjoyed meeting other dogs on the beach. "We stayed at the Homeplace Ramsgate Apartment during the Easter holidays and it was the perfect escape for a few days of fresh air by the coast. Ideally located a walkable distance from Ramsgate train station (great as we don't have a car/have kids who get car sick!) and minutes from the beach. I'm so glad we visited. We stayed for three nights and used a combo of the local 'loop' bus service and walking to also visit Margate and Broadstairs during our stay. The apartment is as gorgeous as it looks on instagram, enviously styled with such attention to detail yet also feeling like a real home to be comfortable in. Suffice to say I was straight on to the Homeplace website even whilst there! Was such a bonus our dog could also join for the stay, making it a proper family escape. "Just wanted to drop you a note and thank you again for our recent stays at the Homeplace Holiday Let in Ramsgate. We’ve lost track of how many times we’ve been to your lovely apartment, but this summer saw us do things a bit differently. We usually use the space as a writing retreat for just the two of us, as we find the apartment has the most magical, creative energy – largely due to your gorgeous décor and the serenity of the seafront location. This time, however, we first visited the apartment in June with friends from America and had an amazing time walking to Broadstairs for fantastic food and exploring the many vintage shops popping up on Addington Street (shout out to the fabulous Positive Retail). It was an easy cab ride to Margate for one of the Top 10 sunsets we’ve ever seen and the purchase of some amazing local art and many drinks at Little Swift. In August, we brought the kids for a long weekend and they absolutely loved “the mansion,” as they called it. The cinema room, kitchen outfitted with kid stuff, and proximity to gorgeous sandy beaches in Ramsgate and Broadstairs were a huge hit. Each time we stay, we have a unique experience as the area is always changing. "We loved our stay in Wendy's flat in Ramsgate. The flat is probably bigger than our house so there was more than enough space for the four of us. And, as one previous reviewer has said, the pictures don't do it justice, the flat is even better than it looks on the website! Ramsgate is a lovely place, the beach is 5 minutes down the steps and we managed to visit both Broadstairs and the King Gorge VI Memorial Park with its greenhouse. "Easy to find, close enough to town but far enough away not to be impacted by town centre hustle and bustle, the apartment is perfectly located. Super spacious, clean and beautifully styled, the apartment is an absolute delight to stay in. As fans of mid century design, each room brought joy. The location, literally across the road from the beautiful sandy beach is perfect, and just a five minute walk to the harbour and restaurants and bars. "Totally fell in love with this apartment. It was everything we wanted and more for a weekend away, just wish we could have had more time there. Each room was beautifully done and it felt like a real home from home (but more stylish than our real home!). It was such a treat to have such a large living and dining space, and we took lots of photos of things we wanted to buy for our own flat in London! On the Saturday, we walked along the sea front to Broadstairs and had some lovely seafood on the beach. We enjoyed pottering around Broadstairs and Ramsgate itself, visiting some of the places that Wendy had recommended to us. Wendy was really accommodating, helpful and friendly in organising our stay (which had to be rearranged at least 2 times due to COVID ) and gave lots of great tips for places to go and we will definitely be booking to come back again! "The apartment at Ramsgate was perfect for our family break. When we arrived we were really impressed with how massive the main living area was and the flat just kept going, just when we thought we were at the back of the apartment more rooms revealed themselves. It allowed us to have a very calming break with amazing decor. Kids loved the film selection as well. The place is lovely and very clean. The location is also great, right on the front with a great walk down to the beach and along to Broadstairs to the left and the main town of Ramsgate to the right. "This was our fourth time visiting this gorgeous apartment.  For a big family it makes for a perfect holiday location. The place looks and feels incredible, due to Wendy's attention to detail which even extends to room fragrance - so nice! It's immediately relaxing and being able to cross the road to the beach is such a bonus. The decoration is beautiful and every time we visit there is a quirky new detail. The kitchen and living room area are so warm and welcoming and make it a great base to stay in and get cozy if you feel like cooking, there are some brilliant recipe books to experiment with.  We tried out some of the great restaurants nearby in Ramsgate and in Broadstairs which is a short walk from the apartment. Even with four kids and two adults the place feels spacious and there's a cool snug to watch movies which my children loved. An easy drive from London, the place has become our go-to mini break destination when we want to get away from the stress and some sea air. A stones throw away from a lovely, sandy beach meant we could go for a brisk morning dip before we explored Ramsgate and the surrounding areas.
