"What a gorgeous apartment, decorated beautifully and so spacious. We had high expectations having stayed in the beautiful Ramsgate apartment a few times before and it did not disappoint! We had a lovely time in Porto, what a pretty place and the area that the apartment is in seems really cool. We went to Combi coffee every morning! Had a super lovely meal at Flow and went to the art defo place last night for pizza and pasta. And it was so lovely to see the sun!! We loved Porto, can see why you do too. Thanks so much for another lovely stay."Natalie & Leon (Porto, April 2024)
"We had a wonderful time thanks so much. I have a feeling you might have some repeat customers. Location was fantastic and we loved the decor and space. The weather also was brilliant!"Mary Jones & Friends (Porto, April 2024)
"We had a wonderful stay in Porto, The apartment is in a fab location with lots of cafes & restaurants in walking distance (we especially enjoyed the bakery round the corner). The apartment is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. Just perfect for our family city break. Thank you Wendy & Family"Beccy Meilhan & Family (Porto, October 2023)
"The apartment is a true gem. Its vintage decor gives the place a cosy, yet sophisticated vibe and the spacious layout is great for families. The playroom is a delightful bonus that our kids really enjoyed. It's close to restaurants and cafes, so you'll never go hungry, and the metro station is just a short walk away making it super convenient to explore the city. A perfect spot for our family to stay!"Louise Edmonds & Family (Porto, October 2023)
"We enjoyed our stay at Vintage Bonfim very much. The apartment is well appointed with all the facilities required, and is attractively decorated. We particularly appreciated the local area with a bakery, supermarket, restaurant and local outside bar (2pm-2am!) all only a few minutes walk. The managing agents Majord’Home were very welcoming, and available should we need them."Sarah Litton (Porto, October 2023)
"We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful apartment. The attention to detail is perfect, and there are so many gorgeous vintage mid century pieces in every room. The apartment is huge and in a very pretty tree lined street. There is so much to see and do right on the doorstep..we walked nearly everywhere. Wendy gave us a big list of restaurants cafes and places of interest so making plans was very easy. Would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful city and this apartment is in a great location for exploring it"Danielle Le Petit (Porto, September 2023)
"This was my second time visiting Wendy’s beautiful apartment in Bonfim - on this occasion with my three teenage daughters. The place is such a great base to explore from and the immediate area around has loads of options for cool cafes and restaurants. The tiled buildings in the area are some of the nicest in the city. It’s tempting not to go out at all and just enjoy hanging out in the apartment think - vintage Barbie dreamhouse, vibes. Beautifully decorated throughout the kitchen is particularly cute, and downstairs there is a great place to buy glazed croissants and treats for breakfast. We loved the gorgeous chilled out bedrooms and super comfy beds. Hanging out in Porto central, a short walk away, there’s so much to see, I recommend visiting the incredible food market, walking over the bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia, having sundowners by the Douro in Ribeira and taking in the views from Jardins do Palácio de Cristal. So easy to get to the nearby beach in Matosinhos and definitely worth a trip to swim in the sea. We took the train to Lisbon from the nearby station which was zero hassle. Already looking forward to booking our next trip."Emma Jones & Daughters (Porto, September 2023)
"The Porto apartment is truly stunning. It exudes the ambiance of an Elle Deco magazine photoshoot, offering ample room for both personal relaxation and shared gatherings around the dining table. However, a word of caution: the local bakery's pastel de nata are ridiculously irresistible! Wendy thoughtfully provided us with an array of superb recommendations, both nearby and in the surrounding areas, enhancing our entire stay and turning it into an absolute pleasure."Kathryn Dyer & Family (Porto, August 2023)
"Just wanted to say thanks so much to Wendy. We had the best time in BonFim and beyond. Our daughter said she wanted to stay forever! We loved the apartment and thanks again for all the amazing tips on where to go. Lots of new memories made💜 We’ll be back again soon."Daniela DA & Family (Porto, August 2023)
"The Homeplace apartment in Porto is amazing. It’s beautifully decorated, every little corner has something gorgeous to admire: a chair, lamp or wallpaper. It was a joy to have breakfast there in the morning using the pretty plates and cups or chill in the evening. The neighbourhood is very trendy with lots of lovely places to go out and eat. It’s easy to get everywhere and explore the city. The Serralves museum was one of our favourites. I can’t wait to book my next stay."Charlotte, Sara & Shelley (Porto, August 2023)
"We loved our stay in the Homeplace apartment, the spacious apartment had everything we needed and more. The interior design was stunning, and the kids room with DVDs was such a lovely touch. So many things are walkable from the apartment which meant we could come back intermittently during the day which was really handy. A really inspiring trip, we can’t wait to come back!"Georgia Coote & Family (Porto, August 2023)
"We had a fantastic time; Porto is a beautiful city & we walked everywhere to see as much as possible - must admit our legs are still aching! We were really grateful for your recommendations & enjoyed some wonderful meals. A new one for your list is Intrigo - great views & the food was fabulous. The apartment was great, exactly what we needed for a family of 4 adults. We will definitely recommend to friends & family."The Williams Family (Porto, July 2023)
"The apartment is the ideal base from which to explore Porto. It’s an easy 15 minute walk into the centre of the city and a 5/10 minute walk to a number of super restaurants, where we ate most evenings. Also close by is a metro stop, a stop for the tour buses, a Spar just across from the apartment and a bakery around the corner where we got our daily croissants and pasteis de nata. Wendy provided us with a brilliant and comprehensive list of recommendations of things to see and do and we managed to fit in a lot of these during our week long stay. The apartment itself is spacious and beautifully presented - Wendy clearly has a talent for interior decor. The teens were delighted with their rooms and having their own space to chill out after walking miles each day. Everything you need is provided and Wendy and the Majordhome team were so helpful and easy to make arrangements with. I can’t recommend the apartment highly enough!"Donna McKnight & Family (Porto, July 2023)
"Well. Porto did not disappoint and neither did the apartment!! Everything was prefect. We had a ball. The local area was great. Flow was the perfect spot for my birthday last night too. Thanks for the recommendation!!! We even got the tram to Foz today and swam in the sea before getting our flights this evening."Jayne Newman & Friends (Porto, July 2023)
"We absolutely loved the apartment. The evening light through the windows was wonderful. We loved being part of the neighbourhood…. Such a great location for everything; places to have coffee, eat and indulge at the bakery. After exploring it was so good to go back open the windows and enjoy the evening sun… bliss I loved the layout of the apartment too. So cool."Bill & Jayne Dodd (Porto, June 2023)
"Wendys apartment was perfect for our family holiday in Porto. We were so surprised when we discovered how big the flat is, perfect for a family or group of friends. We absolutely loved the decor and attention to detail but with the original character and history kept in tact. Booking and the meet and greet service made everything super easy and we loved all the recommendations Wendy gave. The location makes it easy to walk everywhere so we hardly used the public transport. We will definitely be back soon."Ellen Brooks & Family (Porto, June 2023)
"We had a really lovely time! Your apartment is stunning; I’ve been planning to stay for a while and it didn’t disappoint. The space is big enough to not be on top of each other, the styling is so considered and grown up, but then there’s also a sweet playroom for children. It’s located in a chilled out part of town. It was the perfect pretend home for 3 nights."Anh Ho & Guests (Porto, May 2023)
"We had a wonderful few days in Porto before we travelled on to Lisbon. We made our own way from the airport on the metro followed by a short walk to the apartment where we were greeted. The apartment was a super base for us to explore the cobbled hilly streets of beautiful Porto, which hugs the Douro river where the spectacular Eiffel’s iron bridge crosses over. The apartment was very spacious and most stylishly decorated. We had a comfortable stay - great to be able to come back and relax in such nice surroundings. There was everything needed and being located in cool neighbourhood with nearby cafe, shop and bakery. Porto has a great vibe, friendly people and pretty buildings decorated with glorious patterned tiles. There is plenty to do - we rode the wooden tram to Foz, wandered around Port warehouses, markets & churches, grabbed creamy custard pastel de nata and sipped on an afternoon glass of port. Perfect. Thank you."Keryl & Matt (Porto, April 2023)
"Thanks so much for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment. It was simply stunning! I knew it was lovely from the pictures but nothing quite prepared us for how fab it was in real life - and how large! It went on and on! We had a lovely time exploring Porto. I managed to pick up some gorgeous Casa Cubista pottery after being inspired by the little dishes on your walls - in love! Thanks again"Carolyn Pugsley & Friends (Porto, April 2023)
"We had a really wonderful time in Porto. The weather for two days was amazing, shame it had to rain for the last day but we still managed to find something fun to do. Porto felt really safe and everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. The apartment is beautiful and we loved the decor and space and Wendy’s exquisite taste. The proximity to the town is so close, we walked and walked each day. Combi cafe was such a good shout, great coffee, lovely buzz and such friendly staff. Thank you for all your other suggestions. We wish we had more time to see more. Jose (driver) and the staff from the agency were really lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you, we will be back."Gillian D'Souza & Friend (Porto, April 2023)

"We found Porto a friendly, walkable, colourful city and would 💯 recommend going and staying in the gorgeous, big Homeplace apartment where you can pretend this is just how you always live, in your clutterfree, stylish way in Continental Europe 💅 Notable mentions to: 🐓 Allll the cakes and pastries 🐓 Cabbageware crockery delight, inc in Wendy's apartment 🐓 The most beautiful commuter train station you've probably ever seen 🐓 The most beautiful and manic bookshop you've probably ever seen, apparently inspired Hogwarts 🐓 Gorgeous tiles, windy alleyways, cat cafe, steep stairs and surprise vistas 🐓 Crashing, dramatic Atlantic waves and wild parrots in the park 🐓 Cable car ride along the river"Krystyna La Roche & Family (Porto, April 2023)
"OMG - what's not to love about this beautiful apartment and amazing city! We both fell in love with the apartment and neighbourhood. Bonfim is a vibe with lots going on - we dined out twice in the neighbourhood as the options were that good. The apartment was well-equipped and was fabulous to hang out in when not exploring. We couldn’t stop admiring the amazing décor and beautiful furniture and were only just able to peel ourselves out of the comfiest bed in the master bedroom. We were so well connected with stations close by, but we chose to walk to each destination and LOVED seeing the city on foot. We managed to fit a lot into our 3 days in Porto but there is so much more to see and do and we plan on returning to beautiful Bonfim and the apartment and finding out even more of what Porto has to offer. Thanks, Wendy and team for a wonderful stay."Chandelle Downs (Porto, April 2023)
"We had a wonderful time at the apartment and in Porto. We loved the style of the apartment, being fans of mid century architecture and design. The location was also great for us….being minutes from Combi Coffee was perfect - we loved it there! The communication with Wendy was superb and local arrangements (keys etc) worked really well to complement this. A brilliant holiday - Porto is fabulous."Jo Volk & Family (Porto, February 2023)
"Wendy and James’s Porto apartment is a charming haven in a spectacular city. Very convenient to get to from the airport and walking distance from the bustle of the town centre - a great location with many local treats to be found. The apartment itself is BEAUTIFULLY styled and super comfortable. It felt very luxurious for two people and I can’t wait to come back again with friends!"Charmian Bedford (Porto, November 2022)
"We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in Porto. The apartment was perfect - very spacious, beautifully decorated and a great location for exploring the city. Wendy’s recommendations for restaurants and places to explore helped us make the most of our stay. We walked for miles exploring the city and there was lots to see and do to keep our 6 and 9 year olds entertained. We’d love to visit again!"Helen Trivers & Family (Porto, October 2022)
"We loved the apartment, thank you. Overall it felt like we found somewhere special enough to celebrate my mum’s 60th, and practical enough for our toddler. The apartment is beautiful and so functional too, which was important for us with a toddler. And we didn’t expect a playroom which was a hit! We were also really grateful for your recommendations, and the person who checked us in was so kind and helpful."Katie Lusmore & Family (Porto, October 2022)
"We had a wonderful few days in Porto staying in Wendy's lovely apartment. It's beautifully decorated & in a great location just outside the hustle & bustle (highly recommend grabbing a coffee & smoothie from Combi coffee on the walk into town). Travelling with our 2 1/2 year old, it was the perfect base to explore the city from and to also have some chill time in the apartment when needed. The apartment is great for adults & kids alike-lots of space and all of the amenities we needed including a cot & highchair. Porto itself has a great vibe, beautiful architecture & a really special light. Be sure to watch the sunset from the Jardim do Morro if you get the chance - I will treasure this memory forever."Lauren Weston & Family (Porto, October 2022)
"I visited Porto recently with my mum for 4 days, what an amazing place! It was made even better by Wendy's fabulous apartment - great location, stylish decor and to-die-for lighting & furniture. Her recommendations for restaurants, bars & places to visit (local & further afield) were extremely helpful - we particularly loved the food at Flow restaurant, browsing the shops, walks in the local park with stunning views of the river, as well as the coffee & croissants at the little cafe over the road from the apartment. Cannot wait to come back next year."Karen Walker & Mum Linda (Porto, September 2022)
"Oh wow what a place! Tucked away in a very chic part of beautiful Porto lies this very stylish very comfortable and well equipped apartment. We (2 adults 2 kids 10&6) stayed here and loved everything - the cool decor and comfy beds were great after roaming around in this city all day. Thanks to the owners huge list of fantastic local recommendations we felt like we really made the most of our short stay. We’d love to come again!"Liz Fraine & Family (Porto, August 2022)
"We finally made it back to Porto to stay in Wendy's apartment and it was just as amazing, if not better the second time round! Having such a beautiful home as a base to stay in what is such a stunning city adds much to the holiday. Stopping off at Combi for an iced coffee on the way into the centre of town. Catching a bus door to door to the incredible Serralves art gallery and most of all the evening light when you get home after a delicious meal. The apartment is so welcoming and feels like a home from home (albeit a very beautiful and much more tidier one!). Now when we go away my kids ask if we are 'going to stay in a Wendy house'. There is much expectation to live up too... Thank you!"Hannah Ahmed and Family (Porto, August 2022)
"The apartment was a fantastic location in a great city and we found the people of Porto to be very welcoming and friendly. Within easy walking distance of the centre and with two metro stations close by for trips further out to Matosinhos or the FC Porto Football stadium (which our kids loved). The decor and vintage furniture gave us lots of interesting things to appreciate when indoors. The living space and dining areas were spacious and comfortable, while each of the bedrooms all had their own unique character. The whole apartment stayed pleasant and cool despite the over 30C degree heat when we were there in July. A few highlights during our trip were watching the sunset from the riverbank in Gaia, having lunch by the beach in Foz, and visiting the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal for the peacocks and the spectacular views over the Douro. With beautiful sights, lovely restaurants and quirky independent shops, we were well entertained for the week but still have plenty more to explore for another trip!"Claire Denni & Family (Porto, July 2022)
"Porto was such a beautiful place. My daughter and her boyfriend joined us on the trip and Wendy’s apartment gave us the perfect base. The apartment was surprisingly spacious with everything we needed and in a fantastic location to explore - we all loved the fabulous eclectic decoration! Porto has so much to offer, any age. Thanks to Wendy’s detailed recommendations we were able to choose what suited us all. We really enjoyed dining at Flow and visiting the magnificent Serraves (a must see I’d say, you won’t be disappointed). Just wandering around Porto is a delight, such beautiful architecture and those tiles!"Annetta Balzan & Family (Porto, June 2022)
"Just wanted to say thank you very much for letting us stay in your gorgeous apartment. The apartment itself and the location were more than we could have hoped for. Porto is a very cool city and your list of recommendations were brilliant. We got through a lot of them. Our favourite thing we did was either the tidal pools or we also hired bikes and cycled to the fishing village you mentioned. We kept going on further and came across some gorgeous beaches. Thank you very much again Wendy, we had a great few days."Sharon Scully & Family (Porto, June 2022)
"We’re still in awe at how incredible Wendy’s Porto apartment was. Spread across the entire floor, this place is special - really special. Every single item has its place, carefully thought out and beautifully displayed. Each room has been curated with incredible attention to detail and bloomin’ spectacular interior design skills! I’d also like to give a special shout out to the lighting - never have I seen such an amazing bunch of ceiling lights, soft lighting and floor lamps. Kudos. Porto itself was dreamy. We’d waited a long time for that holiday and it was every bit as amazing as we dreamed it would be. Our favourite meal was at Tapas na Boca - the food, atmosphere and service was impeccable. We’ve never enjoyed food so much in a city actually, every meal we had was a treat! The Frida Kahlo exhibition at Immersivus Gallery, Serralves Museum and Casa São Roque (WHAT a building) for the Andy Warhol exhibition were also highlights for us - and you HAVE to visit Armazem, it’s like stepping into another world.  So to summarise… we’d go back in a heartbeat. Until next time "Sandie & Cal (Porto, June 2022)
"We have just returned from a 4 night stay in Wendy's amazing apartment in Porto. Firstly the apartment itself is beautiful, spacious and in a lovely location. Our kids loved the den and new toys to play with! We found Porto to be a dream destination with a young family, everyone was super friendly, food was excellent (and affordable!), and city was v easy to navigate. Wendy provides fantastic suggestions, wouldn't hesitate to recommend and already scheming our return :)"Aoife Malone & Family (Porto, June 2022)

"We had an amazing stay, thank you. Very happy with the accommodation and Ruis was brilliant. Lovely to be in Porto, it's such a great city. Wendy was also really helpful with all the arranging beforehand, making everything feel very easy and smooth. We only had a short break but it meant we were able to relax and enjoy our holiday with plenty of useful recommendations."Jemeela & Family (Porto, June 2022)
"We recently returned from a family break in the vibrant and eclectic city of Porto, and all of us loved it. We packed in a huge amount in the week we were there, and felt like we barely scratched the surface of what the city has to offer. We made good use of the brilliant and comprehensive guide of recommendations by Wendy, from taking the tram to the beach and having a glorious lunch at one of its nearby fish restaurants, to visiting the stunning Serralves villa, to eating delicious pizza in a hip but relaxing restaurant in an Art Deco car park. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished and really comfortable, with more than enough space for four of us. I can’t recommend it enough and am looking forward to another trip."Shuna Frood & Family (Porto, June 2022)
"We have just returned from a few days in Porto. Porto is so incredibly beautiful. Amazing architecture, friendly people and so easy to navigate, either on foot or by public transport. Having previously stayed at the Ramsgate flat we were looking forward to staying at the Porto one and we were not disappointed. It was perfect. Spacious, spotless, and decorated in Wendy’s wonderful eclectic style. We saw a lot in just a few days and although covering most things on Wendy’s list of suggestions (and adding a few more discoveries of our own) we did not get to do all we wanted. Treetop walk at Serralves was a highlight as was the beautiful Livraria Lello bookshop. So that calls for a return visit I guess!"Ann and Jude (Porto, May 2022)
"Having stayed at the gorgeous Homeplace Ramsgate apartment, we were really excited to visit Porto and Homeplace certainly did not disappoint! We walked miles exploring, but our favourite restaurants were all within 5 minutes of the apartment, which is in a really nice area. Wendy's local recommendations definitely helped us to get the most out of our weekend and we've already recommended it to several of our friends."Tom Corbett (Porto, May 2022)
"We had a brilliant time in Porto, and Wendy’s apartment was the perfect base to explore the city for the first time. The city is incredibly friendly, great for exploring on foot, and quick and easy to escape by efficient, clean, cheap public transport. It’s also beautiful, whatever the weather, and there are wonderful views that can leap out and surprise you around any given corner. To visit a city center cafe for breakfast, have lunch at a restaurant literally on the beach, then get back to the city for first class pizza in an Art Deco car park…we’ll there aren’t many cities in the world that can offer that. Porto was just amazing. And a Porto Tonico is a wonderful thing."Toby Southgate & Family (Porto, February 2022)
"Porto is beautiful. The architecture, the food and the people make it a very relaxing city break. Wendy & James' apartment is the perfect place to stay, central enough to walk most places which you definitely need to do to appreciate the colours and tiles of the surrounding buildings and the occasional street art. It helps that there are loads of cafes around to grab fuel for exploring and the daily pastel de nata quickly became ‘a habit’ during our visit. Wendy has loads of great recommendations too - our highlights were definitely Serralves, gelato at the beach in Foz, the cable car at Gaia and dinner at Mistu. Go, with or without kids for a fix of culture and food that works for all."Deb Leyshon & Guests (Porto, November 2021)
"The Homeplace apartment in Porto Wendy has created is simply gorgeous. Beautifully decorated and so spacious, much bigger than I imagined! Situated on one of the prettiest streets in the Bonfim district - tile heaven - with loads of great independent, artisan shops, cool cafes and outdoor spaces to enjoy nearby - the location couldn't be better. I was able to stroll down to the river then into the centre of the city to take in all the sights but also spent time in the square nearby to the base, enjoying the hub of fab restaurants there. The light and the design are so beautifully constructed that it was hard to tear myself away from the apartment. But Porto has so much to offer, it's a breathtaking city with so many attractions to cram in. The nearby beaches and fish restaurants are well worth the effort too if you want to go further afield - cheap as chips on the Metro. Porto is a hidden gem of a city for colour, architecture, natural beauty, and relaxation. It's much cheaper to eat and drink there too. Perfect city break! So much to see and do and felt perfectly safe for those wishing to travel alone. Wish I was still there!"Emma Jones (Porto, October 2021)
"The apartment was a perfect base for our trip to Porto. We were very much wowed when we walked into Wendy's apartment, it's quite possibly the nicest place we've stayed in a long time. It is beautifully decorated and a lot bigger than the photographs make out. The apartment has everything you need and is brilliantly located in a quiet neighbourhood, not too far from the hustle and bustle of Porto, transport links and local supermarkets and cafes. We walked most places as it's a fairly compact city. We were torn between wanting to stay in and cook, or go out to a restaurant for our evening meal, the apartment is so lovely we wanted to spend more time in it! I'd highly recommend the apartment and Porto, we had a great time."Chloë Ackroyd (Porto, August 2021)
"I don’t think we’ve ever fallen quite so quickly for a city, and Wendy’s place is the perfect place to start your love affair (with the city, not extra marital) The apartment is in the Bonfim district, and a pleasant walk into the main parts. The place itself has the perfect amount of original charm added with Wendy’s own character. The pieces in the apartment are truly original and add to the whole atmosphere of the stay. Porto itself is not short of incredible, and insanely cheap eateries and drinkeries (not a word) we ended up trying most of Wendy’s recommendations. Some by chance, by stumbling upon them, and some by booking in advance, as recommended. I think we averaged about 5 meals a day, we walked and drank then walked and ate and repeat. PERFECT. We shall definitely be back!"Samantha Valentine (Porto, September 2019)
"Porto stole our hearts…it is such a wonderful city. Staying in Homeplace Porto made it even more special - a stunning home from home with huge added luxury. Based in a fantastic neighbourhood with everything you need on your doorstep - yes, freshly baked custard tarts EVERY morning! The recommendations are superb, from Porto Tonics in the city to the Atlantic coast beaches - it was a holiday we will not forget in a long time, in fact, we will be back! Thank you!"Hannah Ahmed & Family (Porto, August 2019)
"We had a great time in Porto, the city is small enough to comfortably walk around to take in the sights and has a great blend of culture, heritage and traditional tourism that makes it a perfect city break. The Homeplace apartment is both sophisticated and comfortable in its furnishings, use of colour and overall feel of the place, so we could both appreciate our surroundings and relax in them. Above all, the apartment has a sense of authenticity about it in its style, contents and the locale. The local area is friendly and has everything you need in a short walk - from a well-stocked supermarket to design shops, restaurants and bars. We would definitely recommend both the city and apartment to family and friends!"Susan Atkin & Family (Porto, August 2019)
"We really loved our stay in Porto at The Homeplace Porto Apartment. Having Wendy’s recommendations and the keys to the most amazing apartment made you feel like a local with insider information and helped us enjoy the beautiful city of Porto without any worries. The apartment itself was stylish and beautifully curated with a restful feel; gorgeous, retro pieces and fabulous Portuguese ceramics. We would have been happy to stay forever! This little gem is well worth a visit and I hope to return soon."Catherine Scott (Porto, July 2019)
"We’ve just had the most incredible trip. The apartment is so dreamy! Even more beautiful than the pics. It feels enormous and such a great neighbourhood full of amazing restaurants, coffee shops & even a bonus flea market in the local park! Thank you so much for letting us stay. We are all in love with Porto, such a beautiful, chilled city - gorgeous beaches, lovely people (and don’t get me started on the tiles). We are desperate to come back already."Laura & Friends (Porto, July 2019)
"I don’t know where to start with our stay in Porto...was it the eclectic, quirky and romantic city of Porto itself? Or was it the thoughtfully curated flat...owned, renovated and dressed by the stylish founder of Homeplace.co.uk?! City break meets seaside retreat. Relaxation meets the hustle bustle of a thriving city. Porto checked ALL of the boxes for good food, great coffee shops, art scene, culture and nightlife. Safe, vibrant, gorgeous and romantic. Full of history, full of character and oh so cool. 20 minutes to gorgeous and laid back beaches. Porto tastings and fresh seafood...heaven!! The flat has the lateral appeal that we so often lack in London. It’s quirky layout and carefully thought out attention to vintage detail (not to mention the collection of houseplants) is like a warm hug to walk into after a day of exploring. We will be back as soon as humanly possible. And don’t worry about researching the city...Wendy will send everything you need to know upon booking. It is a no brainer...a best-kept travel secret for sure..."Kristen Georghiades & Family (Porto, July 2019)
"Where do I begin with no 25 homeplace apartment?! Firstly; the communication before we arrived was great. Ruis and Pedro sent me a brilliant and comprehensive email with all the info about the apartment and Porto itself which included maps and links. It was brill. Ruis greeted us at the apartment with a gorgeous welcome and a glass of Port to get us in the mood! So lovely. The apartment is in a really lovely part of Porto. Bonfim feels like a leafy suburb but has a great buzz too and there’s loads of great cafes, shops, bars to choose from. It’s only a ten min walk into the city (if that) and you can go via the lovely park en route. My husband and I sat in there for ages people watching! The apartment is itself is just peachy! For one it’s huge. In a good way. It took us a while to get our bearings. It is cool and calm and serene. The master bedroom is so lovey I honestly couldn’t get out of bed most mornings. The most comfortable bed with lovey bedding and pillows. It was lush. The whole apartment is an interior dream! From the colours on the walls to the rugs on the floors, the lighting, artwork, crockery, seating and everything else is between. We loved it, and we loved spending time there too. We don’t like hotels as they always feel oppressive and there are other people to deal with! We stayed in a couple of nights and watched Netflix. Used Uber eats. It felt really lovely to be there. Comfy and cool (in every sense of the word) and relaxing. We aren’t the type to schlep around the city looking at everything it has to offer, we are the more laid back city breakers and the apartment really allowed for this. Not too far to go back for a nap! Essential I say. So all in all we loved it and we will definitely be back. Thank you Wendy and your Porto based team."Alison & Glen (Porto, June 2019)
"We really enjoyed our stay in Wendy & James’s apartment, it made our trip even more of a treat because we looked forward to going back and chilling in our ‘Porto home’ as well as exploring the city.

We’d looked at going to Porto for a city break for a while, but it was watching the refurb, restore and making of the apartment look magic that prompted us to book the trip! (Instagram can be a great thing)

We’ve come home inspired by the décor and refreshed from our break, we will definitely be booking again!
Thanks for being so lovely.

"The beautiful Homeplace apartment was the centre-point of a blissful family spring get away. The spacious rooms meant we could enjoy family meals around the dining table, chill out in the living room and let the kids unwind from a long day of walking without ever feeling crammed-in. There are great local places to eat and drink nearby, and supermarkets if you want to just stay in and cook. The whole place looks incredible, of course - tastefully decorated, but not fussy. You can enjoy a family holiday in luxury, without feeling like a stranger."Emilie Fournet (Porto, April 2019)
"Was a joy to stay in this beautiful apartment. Wendy has created a stunning space, mixing the old and the new and retaining all its special character. Brilliant location in a nice peaceful part of town, close enough to easily dip in and out of the city centre buzz. Has everything you'd need, including the all important comfy beds! We will be back!"Amy Ward (Porto, March 2019)
