We found another one! In fact we found several and this one is part pf a pair, equal in size and framed exactly the same way.
Super unique, these needleworks are based on L. S Lowry's famous mill paintings, possibly set in Salford, Greater Manchester and painted in and around 1930.
L. S Lowry's work largely dealt with the industrial districts in the northwest of England from the mid-1900s. He developed a painting style of cityscapes with people, often described as "matchstick men" as can be seen in the needlework.
Quite possibly one of the quirkiest pieces we've come across in a while, the detail is wonderful and colour palette very pleasing.
Listed alongside another Lowry piece the same size and framed in the same way which can be seen here.
In excellent vintage condition, it comes ready to hang.
