We love the tactile texture and quirky individuality vintage needleworks and tapestries bring to an interior but these Lowry inspired pieces takes it to a new level..
Based on L. S Lowry's famous painting 'Coming from the Mill' depicting workers heading home after a shift in Salford, Greater Manchester, painted in and around 1930.
L. S Lowry's work largely dealt with the industrial districts in the northwest of England from the mid-1900s. He developed a painting style of cityscapes with people, often described as "matchstick men" as can be seen in the needlework.
This is one of the largest of these pieces we've come across, it is mounted in a yellowish green card to coordinate with the colour palette and professionally framed within dark wood, featuring a gold trim.
In excellent vintage condition, it comes ready to hang.
