We love the tactile texture and quirky individuality vintage needleworks and tapestries bring to an interior but this piece takes it to a new level..
Based on one of L. S Lowry's famous industrial landscape paintings, this is an incredibly uncommon subject to find in this type of needlework and the last one we had got snapped up within minutes of going on the site.
L. S Lowry's work largely dealt with the industrial districts in the northwest of England from the mid-1900s. He developed a painting style of cityscapes with people, often described as "matchstick men" as can be seen in the needlework.
A quirky and characterful piece, the detail is wonderful and colour palette very pleasing.
It is in excellent vintage condition and comes ready to hang.
