Irish-born, Bristol-based Yasmeen Ismail is an award-winning author, illustrator and animator. After co-founding a successful animation production company, Yasmeen changed her focus to writing and illustrating picture books.
Yasmeen has received a number of accolades for her work, most recently winning the 2020 World Illustration Award - Professional Children’s Book Category with her picture book ‘Would You Like a Banana?’, published by Walker Books. Previously accolades include the V&A Best Illustrated Book Award and The New York Times Best Illustrated Book. She has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and nominated for the BookTrust’s Great Book Guide 2020 among others.
Yasmeen loves to work with watercolours, pens, crayons, pastels, pencils and paints and to experiment with all sorts of other mediums.
'Would You Like a Banana' is a Special Edition piece, A3 (29.7cm x 42cms) in size and printed on 250gsm Oxygen Offset 100% Recycled paper, manufactured using 100% recycled fibre.
This project has been created in partnership with cultural communications agency Margaret. All proceeds from the sale of these prints will be donated evenly between the charities FareShare & Magic Breakfast.
